Hook that sum bitch up!
So, the next generation of consoles will be hitting the shelves in the next few months. New plastation and Sexbox 1420 or something. But, is there really a need? Besides savages who will want to have the latest and greatest. Is anyone really clamoring?
Besides some dudes on the gaming websites. Do people really want to add another device. That may be slightly better. But really the same item. Besides processing power and a few bells and whistle. What is really going to change?
Internet
One of the biggest issues at play here is internet connectivity. Will your console have to be connected to the net. To play even single player modes? The new Sim City has to be connected to the net to play. I say that is bullshit.
If you want to play a game solo. So be it. Why should I have to be connected. What if you lose your net? Now the system is useless because a corporation wants market research.
Games
I feel we have hit a ceiling when it comes to gaming. There are game makers who are pushing boundaries and going in different directions. But look at the biggest game right now. It is Call of Duty, a first person shooter. The FPS has been around now for a while. A few things have changed for them. But they are basically the same.
Have I made any points here? Possibly.
Did I tell you about the time I tried to overclock a Genesis? It was dreadful. That being said, if you have one laying around, I’d love to try again.
